About
Hi! My name is Wanda. I am a wife to Ray, and mother to two boys — which doesn’t sound very interesting, does it? So, what could I possibly blog about? Well, my youngest, Logan has autism. He is non-verbal, with neurological and physical delays and considered medically complex. It has been an interesting 19 years. Has it been tough – yes; rewarding – yes; tiring – yes; exhilarating yes.
Over the past 19 years, we (Ray and I) have had to balance a busy life with the challenges of raising a son with autism. One of the biggest challenges was making sure our oldest, Ty, did not feel left out. I think we have accomplished this because Ty is a wonderful, and caring big brother and son.
We have had some great vacations and experiences along the way (Logan loves to travel). I may have a few tips on travelling, or just making it to bedtime, that will help others with children on the spectrum.
Throughout the journey I have also had to come out of my comfort zone and be Logan’s voice. I am a staunch advocate for him ensuring I help him have the best life possible.
In recent years I have also had to learn to look after myself and take time for me.
As I go back in time, I have so many things to pass on – come along for the journey.
